As you settle down into the cozy armchair with warm cup of tea in hand, the steady background hum of the bustling cafe soothes your tired soul. The plush chair calls you to relax, to sink comfortably into the fabric just a little too much as you take a sip of the brew your hands are delicately wrapped around.The cafe smells of flowers, rich desserts and perhaps a hint of roasted tea leaves. Even if it's your first time here, the feeling of familiarity washes over your mind gently; as though you've been here all along. The afternoon sun filters through the windows, warm patches of floor occupied by fluffy felines.The owner moves about the place, ensuring his patrons are happy. His warm smiling eyes meet yours and you nod your head lightly to acknowledge him in greeting.

A being from another world, closely aligned to depictions of patupaiarehe however uses *vampire as a quick descriptor.In human form, Mika Akatsuka is a red-haired man with pointed ears and fangs. He has messy bangs and a long ponytail that rests over his left shoulder. He wears a sleeveless black turtle-neck muscle shirt under a soft leather jacket with patterned red fabric on the lapels and inner jacket. The jacket also features silver filigree for details. He wears black pants and thigh-high heeled boots with laces and silver details. On his hands he wears black leather half-palm gloves.Around his waist he wears a red sash with an hourglass chained to it. The hourglass is magical however it appears whatever abilities it had were lost upon arriving in this world. He also wears red belts around the outside of his jacket. At the small of his back, wrapped around the belts, is a grey gauze material.For accessories, he wears a collection of floral themed necklaces as well as a pounamu necklace, carved from greenstone with protection magic imbued into it. The shape is based on toki-adze which is a symbol of strength, determination, and courage in times of adversity. His left ear has a helix-to-lobe chain earring with a moon and star.He also has a set of jewellery involving purple gemstones. A brooch, surrounded by silver sunflower filigree which is connected to a gem on his shoulder and a hanging pendant made from a broken gemstone surrounded by more silver filigree.His clothing and makeup is inspired by visual kei.In cat form, he is akin to a large, very fluffy red Maine Forest cat at 60cm (1'9"). He still retains his pounamu in this form.

OLD WORLD
Before coming to Earth, Mika lived in a dying world. He and his partner were hidden, secluded in the only sanctuary left with plant life remaining. They kept to themselves and lived their days doing their best to tend to the flowers.Unfortunately, humans eventually learned of their existence. In their greed and anger of others having something so precious, the humans attacked the sanctuary, setting fire to everything and burning all the flowers to nothingness. Mika could only watch as everything was destroyed in front of him yet somehow the worst had yet to come.His partner yelled at him to leave, to save himself when it was clear that the fires couldn't be stopped. But the calls for safety drew the humans to them, cutting off their exit. The humans rushed at Mika, weapons glittering yellow and orange from the fiery inferno that surrounded them. Mika's partner lunged forwards and took the killing blows meant for him.Slumped against Mika with blood soaking their clothes, he whispered that Mika's pounamu would protect him. At those words and as the light left his partner's eyes, the green pendant around Mika's neck begun to glow. A green flash engulfed the vampire, and he was transported to a new world. EARTH
Mika lived on Earth for many years with a family that treated him as their adopted son. He eventually moved away and established Nightfall's Bloom. Originally meant to just be a florist, he found that many would come back to spend their time in the comfortable environment. He upgraded the shop to include tables and comfortable places to relax, as well as an area to purchase delicious cakes and other desserts.Over time, he would learn what streaming is and become a VTuber, opening the shop to any fans who wish to seek a place to have fun and watch his stream shenanigans.He is still not over the incidents of his past, and the clothes he wears are a mix of his own, and attire from his deceased partner. Maybe one day he'll learn how to let go and allow himself to move on...?

I'm pretty open to trying out all kinds of games honestly! I also sometimes do handcam streams where I do craft activities and hope to do more of them in the future!My current streams are a lot of Final Fantasy XIV Online. A lot. Mikats are the fan name for Mika's community.They are feline-like creatures combined with flora (usually flowers, but other flora are also possible) and can also come in a humanoid form.

Human-form Mikats, like cat-form Mikats, come in all shapes and sizes. * AnimeFest.

Between 2021 and 2024, I was a guest at AnimeFest, an anime convention held in Texas, USA.Originally, I volunteered to help during their online telethon in early 2021 and did a panel on VTubers. The convention was impressed with my presentation and invited me as a paid guest for the full convention in December that same year. I was invited back subsequent years, even attending in person (paid for by the convention) for AnimeFest 2023.Each year, I would create 7-9 panels to engage with convention attendees. Some panels were related to VTubing directly, such as technical demos of hardware and software to educate on what goes intobeing a VTuber. Other panels were focused on other conversation topics such as respect in VTubing and content creation, or gameshows with fun themes such as pitting VTubers against the audience to see who had better anime and games knowledge.

In 2022, I was asked by the convention to be the emcee for LUXIEM's first ever convention panel. This was my first time emceeing and was with my previous model design/brand.I also created the background design used for the panel.

* escape rooms.

Zane Dase and I designed several escape rooms between 2022-2024 for AnimeFest.We designed the puzzles together, and I was also responsible for the any graphic design work. These were self-contained and built from scratch digitally.We then worked out and designed physical parts of the puzzles and environments, which the Head of Streaming as propsmith, worked to bring to life our ideas and integrate the space with extra decoration to ensure everything was more visually interesting.Each room had it's own theme and new puzzles, and were hugely successful. 4-5 sessions were run each convention and were always sold out to max capacity with approximately 200 participants each year.

The final Escape Room 2024

The End of the Line Cruise Theme
2024 was the last year for AnimeFest as a convention, so we went all out to make a memorable experience. The theme revolved around a cruise hosted by us that had mishaps left and right and everyone was required to solve puzzles to send for help and escape the quickly sinking ship.I was also able to design special "ads" for the convention's social media to advertise the escape rooms.

Each escape room had a prize for participating, usually a postcard.For 2024, we also had special "cruise tickets" printed that you would get at random. There was four versions, two each of myself and Zane.

The second Escape Room 2023

Missing VTubers: The Escape Room Theme
In 2023, we went with a theme of Zane and I going missing, and it was up to the participants to work out what had happened to us.We used a booklet however we also focused on more physical puzzles such as a box that needed UV-lighting to reveal answers and fruit plates placed at each cardinal point.We were also physically present for this escape room, so when we found participants had difficulties with the puzzles, we were able to recalibrate them each night as necessary.

This was the first year we were able to try this concept, originally from an idea pitched in 2021. It consisted of mostly paper-based puzzle solving from a booklet.There was two "routes" themed the attendees being captured by each VTuber. Zane's puzzles were literature related, and mine were stage magician related (previous theme before rebrand).
